last Saturday night, 8/16/2008, Michael Phelps broke Spitz record of capturing 8 gold metals in 1 olympic games. history was made. i tivo'd it for kathleen.

my daughter and her cousin lexie had a great time at the jonas brother's convert up at the NJ Arts Center this past Sat night. my wife took quite a few pictures, most of them very dark and blurred becasue of the darkness, but still many good shots.

kathleen, kelsie, alli and kim went down to sea isle (shore). they had a great time with beautiful weather.
matthew finally deposited his checks from his grad party. now if i can only get him to get his car reinspected.

marsa mattson dies suddenly (Wednesday) from heart attach while down at shore vacation home with family. funeral this sunday

facebook fans

well my daughter and many of my nieces are now facebook fans. in fact, its getting harder to be alone any more. i, of course, have a facebook account but i never thought i would be flooded with notifications request and comments from all these kids (young adults...i'm sorry). i like facebook better than that other social network place because you belong to a group (at least one) and more often than not it's your high school or college or work place. anyway, it was on my mind so I'd thought i would mention it. i hope they don't start twittering...that would drive me to drink! LOL

WDLT - Bugsy Malone 2008

congratulations to the entire production staff and fine young performers of the wdlt performance of bugsy Malone! although the back stage crew quit a day before the opening performance, karen and laura were able to recruit enough support to make the show work. there were some prety funny scene changes. kelsie and ian did a wonderful job. the production was held at St. Matthew's school gym.

Nina & Brian's Wedding

nina and brian put on a wonderful wedding ceremony and reception! nothing was left out, including a surprise song ("Crazy" by kenny rogers) for our wedding anniversary which happened to be the same day! i was very impressed with all the attention to detail. what a terrific couple.

kelsie plays the part of blousey brown, bugsy love interest. the play is a week from this friday. she has 2 solo singing parts. can't wait to see and hear by baby up on stage again.

matthew graduation party...we made it through

well we made it through another child's HS graduation party (7/19/2008). we had it at Incarnation Church in Mantua again (same place as Ants). i hope everyone had a good time. we had the entire Lyons gang in attendance as well as many of the Casazza's. Paul and Kathleen and the kids made it down which was really cool. food was good. volleyball was good. conversation was good. i can't thank everyone for coming out and making Matthew's day a special one. happy birthday Don!

Matthew Graduates WDHS - Class 2008

It was a beautiful day for an out door graduation ceremony at West Deptford High School. my son Matthew graduated today and his mom and dad are very proud of him. his aunt annie, lexie, uncle tim, morgan and madison were there to wish him well. he has grown so fast (and tall) it seems like only yesterday when he uttered so words "i'm the best"! matthew will be attended cabrini with his older brother ant-man. i believe cabrini will be good for him for him. matthew will study accounting and business and hopefully some day will get a job at coach cip's business (maybe wishful thinking).

Twinderella

TWINDERELLA. Attention all students and staff. Come one, come all to the Drama Club's performance of TWINDERELLA. This year's show is a hilarious one-act musical featuring the singing, dancing, and acting talents of our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The show happens only once a year so don't miss this performance! Be here this tonight at 7pm. Tickets are $5.00 and will be sold at the door. Again, that's TWINDERELLA TONIGHT at 7pm.

matthew chooses cabrini

a got a text message from my son. it read "i choose cabrini". so after many months of nagging and prodding, my son decides to go to the same school as his older brother just 1 day before the $600 check is due. better late than never. now if i can only get him to do his homework :(

kelsie confirmation

my little girl got confirmed this past tuesday at st. matthew's hall. aunt maurene was her sponsor. aunt annie, lexie, matthew, anthony, grandmom and granddad were in attendance. it was a nice ceremony and we went out to ponzio's afterwards. the picture is of Sr. Maria and Kelsie.

lacrosse

we are 3 games into the season (2-1) and my picture taking skills are once again being used to their fullest. i just took my 10,000 picture with the canon eos...wow! matthew had 3 goals against winslow on thursday. the team looks pretty good. i got an email from sherry thanking me for taking the pictures...it was nice. oh...we are also undefeated in our new uniforms (only played 1 game in them. Go EAGLES!

chris and susan wedding

last weekend my brother chris and susan were married in lansdale, pa. it was a beautiful affair. the whole family was in attendance. the ceremony and reception were first class. chris & susan looked like they had a terrific time. I wish them many happy years together.

dad talk

so kathleen and i went down last thursday to visit my mom and dad. i had some talk time with my dad while my wife and my mom were out at the store. i don't know how the topic came up but my dad said that he made a mistake when he decided not to go to his brother's (uncle tony) wedding. he was busy with the scouts (boy scouts) at that time and he was in charge of some special event which involved food, entertainment and event planning. he thought that this caused some distance between their relationship as well as with his older brother Paul. he talked about how cousin peter has also distanced himself by not coming to their 50th wedding celebration & chris's wedding. he also talked about his mother's care and how he took his mother in for a short while to give uncle tony a rest. his mother stayed in the same room with linda in vineland. his mother, at this time, had lost lost her ability to remember things including who her family was. sometimes she would leave the house and just start wondering down the street. my dad realized that keeping her in vineland was probably not the best thing for her. he had her moved to an old age home back up near uncle tony where she stayed until she died.

happy new year 2008

i know, i know. sorry :( went to Disney for christmas and it was terrific. the weather was great and the parks were great. we visited the magic kingdom (12/23), mgm (12/24) and epcot (12/25). went down with anne & rufus and their children. stayed at rufus's parents vaca home from 12/26 thru 1/30. it was right on the water way with beautiful dock. many pics taken! also started the wii world of sports.

time for a new heater

there comes a time in every home owner's life when they have to replace a major item...like an oil burner heater system. today is that day for me. it'll be around$2K. thank god for Rufus's connections. he really came through on this one. so hopefully, in about 8 hrs, we will have a new system. the old one is originally equipment with the house (ug). wish me luck :)

email...email...email

remind me why we need email again...oh that's it, so we can all send each other funny jokes! i hope my email box, both at work and at home, starts to grow some ai so that it can filter out all the crap that I get. spam filtering just can't keep up with forwarded "funny" emails from my family and friends. i don't want to blacklist them but sometimes i feel the need to do so.

The Boyfriend

my little girl was absolutely terrific in her first leading role performance as Polly in the play "The Boyfriend". watching her up there made me so proud. she worked very hard to get the role and came thru like a shining star! her friends, Stephany and Allie also perfromed wonderfully. i can hardly wait for her next performance!

Son off to College.

well its that time of year again and my oldest is off to college for his 2nd year. we are taking the entire family, abbey, uncle tim, Mo and Morgan on this trip. everything is packed in the van and ready to go. sarah had the chance to wish anthony well wishes. she was her usual emotional self. i think we will keep her! got to go!

North Jersey Sucks

what else can I say. it's so very true. it's so obvious. it's so smelly! throughout my trips to north jersey, i have had to put up with all the traffic and all the smog. i don't know people enjoy life up here. if i only never had to drive up to north jersey again...oh what a joy that would be.

My first haircut - Bernie

well we did it! the triplets went down to Ocean City and met with Bernie and what a treat it was. Peter was able to track him down and have us meet him at the shop. of course it wasn't not the exact same shop we had our first haircut in but who cares, Bernie was there. the shop had 3 chairs (original old style barber chairs). Bernie showed us the picture he had up on the wall and it was the same one mom and dad had. we (the triplets) signed his photo and I had him sign ours. we took some pictures and talked about grandfather a lot. Bernie had a lot of respect for grandfather and it showed when he told us his stories. we also swapped email addresses and phone numbers. what a special day! Thanks Bernie :)

Family gathering...

well we (siblings) got together yesterday at mon & dad's for a geat feast. it was good to see Jimmy and Paul! everyone is doing great. we also got a chance to take some photos. i have already distributed them via Picasa. it looks like Paul and Jimmy and i are also going to hit the Ocean City barber shop (Bernies) and catch up with Bernie himself. i am bring my camera so that we can take some additional photos. we are meeting at Pete and Mo's shore vacation house first then going over to the shop. more later...

needs to get photos from kat's siblings. trying product called allpeers. it installs as firefox plug-in..prety cool. interface and functions are good. i'll let u know how it turns out. have 2 weeks until poppy b-day event so i should have enough time.

going to see Paul and Jimmy today. should be at mom and dad's around 3pm. Paul came in yesterday and Jimmy flying in today. more later.

my life is scanning. i scan this. i scan that. i scan more of this and then i scan more of that. Grandpop's going to have a BIG collection of photos...and for that matter so is everyone else. oh well, back to scanning this and that.

just got a FB request from my girl Haylie. she's IM'n and FB'n all over the place. this girl's got to major in technology when she get's older. almost done here at the office. i wonder if matt grew any taller today...hmmm

at work

took 1.5 hrs to get into Philly last night. was late getting to Kelsie's play. play started at 7p, got their around 8p. oh well. the play "into the woods" was good but long. i was starving. had to wait until 10p to eat and that wawa shepard's pie did the trick. ant went to Hersey all day yesterday. matt...i have no idea what he did. anyway..today's no bad...staying put in office working on client stuff. going to see Paul and Jimmy this weekend (sunday). ngsyl
